We have extensive experience of scanning both flatbed and film. From archival work for museums, family albums, family holiday slides, valuable book scanning, old glass plate negatives to histological sections.
Scanning, Flatbed and film
Flatbed - Kodak IQsmart A3 scanner (larger items are regularly scanned and re-assembled in the computer). Maximum resolution 9600dpi (standard publication resolution 300dpi), the optical quality and resolution of the scanner is such that we are able to scan microscope slides (see example below). Flatbed scans £1.50 to £5.00 (quantity discounts available)*
Film - 35mm film scanner - we can scan whole films of negatives or transparencies (£12.50), or single frames.
Single transparency/slides, bulk transparency /slide scanning from 10 to 1,000's!
Maximum resolution 4,000dpi. Prices vary due to quantity - please email or phone for a price.
Histological sections - up to 10,000 dpi, standard 5000dpi.
Scanning of Family photographs / albums
We offer a special lower price for the scanning of family photographs, you can have scans made suitable for reprinting or for displaying on your computer screen. If you have many hundreds of photographs we will offer a further discount. If you prefer to leave your photographs still in the original album or frame we can still scan without any problem.
Print sizes up to and including 6"x8" 35p incl VAT, print sizes over 6"x8" 50p incl VAT.
Transparencies or slides /negatives (35mm, & medium to large format);
single scans 50p, quantities up to 100= 40p each, from 100 to 999 = 30p each, 1000+ = 25p each.
Files can be saved as TIF or JPG, resolution = 4000dpi with standard prices (resolutions upto 10,000dpi are available, please ask for details).
All scans are individually cropped and adjusted by humans.

We can provide digital restoration of old photographs, with scratches and unwanted objects (or people!) removed from prints, some missing areas restored.
Giclee (inkjet) prints (A4 to A3), plain paper, photo paper, heavyweight paper and premium quality (publication and archival quality).
We have experience of, and regularly deal with, original and extremely valuable items; original Darwin watercolours, centuries-old scientific books (Whipple Museum), original glass plate negatives (department of Archaeology), Victorian photographs (South Asian studies).
